Question: What Should You Avoid to Treat Obesity and Maintain Long-Lasting Weight Control?

Answer:  Avoid foods with added sugar and wheat/grain-based flours.

By Ed J. Hendricks, MD

What? How can this be true? Haven’t we been told we should eat grains, grain products and lots of fruit every day? Yes, we have been told. Large-scale national surveys have indicated most Americans have adopted this advice and eat breads, baked goods, and cereals every day filled with so-called “whole-grain goodness.” The US produces about $20 billion worth of fruit and $20 billion worth of wheat annually; additional evidence of what Americans are buying. December Recipe 2011 - Grilled Lamb Chops over Greens

Dec 9, 2011 @ 01:39 AM — by Paula Hendricks, Nutritionist

What a beautiful presentation this dish will be at your next holiday dinner.  Grilled lamb is a Hendricks family dinner tradition during the holidays and we look forward to this tasty gourmet meal.   Many people think lamb is difficult to prepare but it is really very simple, especially with this recipe.  When buying lamb, it can be purchased in racks or as individual chops. Ask the butcher to cut the rack into chops for you.  Never had lamb?  Go outside the box and try this delicious meat!  It’s that good.   Each chop contains approximately 2 – 3 ounces of meat, up to 20 grams of protein, depending on size of chop.
